hi all this my first post I have a Freelander 2 SE TD 4 2009, I have black oil leaking from air intake at the coupling on the left just before air duck disappears down the left side of the engine it drips onto the rocker cover and down the back of the engine , so does this mean I need to change the EGR valve or clean it or is there something else I need to do or is this just how it is, any help/advise would be welcome

thanks

Those joints often leak because the seal is either damaged, folded over, or the clip isn't quite tight enough. It's got nothing to do with the EGR valve, it just drips oil which has come from the breather.

Hi Brendafender.
Has already stated by Nodge above if you still have the original clip around it, i would change it for a jubilee clip, make sure when you remove the join to clean it up.
