hippo passed its mot, 5th year in a row , yippie

got the aircon re gassed , was on 180 now nearly 600 and they only charged me 80 quid all in , inc the mot

got some advisories that there is some slight rust on the front brake pipes, so will get them replaced , along with the front brake hoses at the same time ,

my son and I replaced the rear brake pipes and hoses already , but had to get my local garage to redo all the flares for us, couldn't get them right , they kept splitting

so for peace of mind will get my local garage to do the fronts this time,

Good news on the MOT.
I've found my brake pipes are quite rusty, just where they are clipped by the bottom of the bulkhead. I'll need to do them this summer, along with the ever increasing list of jobs.

cheers guys

seems as though rusty brake lines are a trait with hippos , lol

will be good to get them done, once these are finished the entire brake system would have been replaced

peace of mind and think it wouldn't be any more than £200 quid to get the front brake pipes and hoses all done

My Discovery 3 brake pipes were so rusty above the rear diff, that they actually leaked!!
My current Freelander is much less rusty in general than my D3 of the same year. On the whole, the Freelander doesn't suffer from corrosion, unlike the larger LR models.

I can't remember myself , regarding the type of flares

for love nor money could we get the flares right ,

thought we had done the difficult part with getting the rear pipes in one complete piece , how wrong we was, lol

also replaced the small brake pipe that goes onto the drum , as that had been rounded off in the past

will be good once the fronts are done , as that will be the entire braking system replaced

was really lovely as well with the hot weather today and having decent air con , even had to turn it down as my arm was beginning to freeze, a massive difference than before
