Just fitted some 2" spacers on a fellas truck for him, and just as i finished his dad come out and says ' they are an mot failure them lad, you will av to take em off afore you put it through'

These are the 2" blocks that fit between the axle and the spring plate.

Anyone know if he's right or is he talking ****e?

just spoke to a mate who is a m.o.t tester, he says theres nothing anywhere says its a failure. providing they are fit correctly and are not un safe then they should be fine.

Interestingly - this is a failure..........

"2. An anti-roll bar not fitted to an axle on which it is standard "

.......... Discos with rear AR bar removed?

If you fitted LR Genuine Heavy Duty Springs you had to remove the Anti Roll Bar, so it depends how you define standard.

you have to remove all traces of the arb being there, cut off the brackets and paint over them

I've given him the option of this, so will probably end up doing this for him.

The tyres don't stick out anymore than they did before, so thats all good.

Looks like he's talking cock, thanks for link to manual mseries, worth aving that :D

I've reassured him its fine, and shown him this post, so he's a happy bunny again.

I've shot his dad......:mil36:

i have a 110 never had arb front or rear but all the brackets are there. its a bit like the rangey years ago.people removing boge self leveler and fitting standard a frame some places would test others wouldnt. although a lot were made without.as stated if its safe there should be no problem

My 200tdi has the brackets but they were never fitted at the factory, I could always retrofit I suppose and lose all that articulation..............yeh right!!

regards

Dave
