Moan, moan, moan. Thats all anybody does on here. Just replaced tensioners and belts on air con and PAS. The air con one disintergrated up the motorway - but i.m not moaning, it had been whiring away for months and i had ignored. Now runs nice and quite again - slight moan, cost of tensioners.:)

Product specific internet forums tend to be full of people seeking advice for something that has broken/gone wrong, by default they generally are not overjoyed at the thought of having to spend a fortune or hours working on whatever has gone wrong.

Look in any of the specific vehicle forums on here and you won't find many being jumping for joy because their car needs work, I've had Alfa's, VW's, a BMW, a Renault and I don't remember much on the way of model specific forums where someone has posted, "my car is great, it never goes wrong and is wonderful" - tempting fate?

I'll try, for my part to be more jolly next time I'm facing a large bill!

In the spirit of unity ,my car is great i love my car ,however will not tempt the god of mischance by stating anything further .

Ha Ha! good for you! BSA is right re the nature of forums of course. I dont come onto the forum much these days - too much to go wrong and enough to put anybody off. Thing is when you pay 2 and 6 for a complex machine that was 20 odd thou when new - well let the roller coaster ride. I'm with Angus, aint gonna sell it and cant afford a new one, so just get on with it and if you can't buy a nice Mondeo next time - but STOP MOANING! not that you are but you get my drift.:)

Well, my old Freelander is still going strong, aside from ABS light on and I,m throwing this at an independant to fix - for the MOT. Had some fun in the summer replacing rear wheel bearings, a bugger of a job out in the road but doable. Just a word of advice re noisy rear end / diff etc., always check wheel bearings first!! My son is 22 and has just announced that he wants a Land Rover - ha ha, good lad, but then he has back up - me!
