Misfire 1.8

Hey guys new here. I have a misfire at idle. Its had new sparks and ignition coils. Any ideas.

Hi, welcome. I'd be checking for fault codes first. 1.8 is obd compliant and a cheap reader should be fine. Another easy thing to check is the springs in the coil packs where it fits over the spark plugs. Pull them out and give them a slight stretch!! This sorted one of my 1.8 Freelanders out.

Seems it maybe a mass air flow senser take it. It runs as it should.

There isn't a MAF on the K series. A misfire at idle always warrants a compression test, as suggested on the other identical post.

It's best to post only 1 thread per fault, or answers get lost.

The compression seems fine. It was sensor I unplugged i''m not sure to what it was it. It idled high but no misfire.

Can you post an image of it?

Do you have any codes?

Best be finding out then!! Not a brill idea to unplug things without knowing what they are.

I think its a air sensor. When I'm home I'll send a picture in. it's my first land rover.
