Freelander 2 new misfire problem over 25mph

My freshly serviced and MOT’d Freelander 2 has now developed a misfire over 25mph. I got it back home driving under 1500rpm. Garage had a look and think it might need a new injector module. Has never misfired before. Starts and idles perfectly. Any ideas?
 
What year is it? Petrol or diesel?
Does is misfire at a particular road speed or engine speed?

Automatic or manual?
The engine speed when it starts to misbehave is much more helpful that knowing the road speed. You initially mentioned 1500RPM, so does it misfire above 1500RPM?
Is the misfire there as a regular misfire, or is it variable in its behaviour?

Has the service schedule been kept up to date?

Has a proper diagnosis by someone suitably qualified in such things been carried out?

The car is a manual. Runs fine at low revs, up to around 1500rpm. Above that it hiccups with increasing frequency.
Yes it’s got a full service history and had been at the garage for a service and MOT 2 days before.
It’s been back to the garage and had a new fuel filter and a diagnostic readout. They think it’s the injector module. As that’s expensive, I’m hoping it’s something more simple!

Does is misfire from cold, or only once it's warmed up?
There are a few cheap things to replace before spending out on injectors, but even then a set of 4 injector is around £800, with about £200 to fit them and code them. I'm unsure of what an injector module is, unless they mean the PCM, which is very unlikely to fail.
For a misfire, I'd be replacing the crank sensor first. These cost about £80 for a genuine part, and take no more than 10 minutes to fit, and they are known to fail causing misfires.

The misfire kicks in when the revs go above 1500 ish. Doesn’t seem to make a difference if the engine is warm or not.
