Military vehicle displays, tank rides and children's activities are
just some of the attractions at this annual event at the Royal
Gunpowder Mills. The weekend will also host a number of living history
re-enactment groups and there will be "live" firing demonstrations of
artillery and small arms.
There will be plenty of stalls selling old and new uniforms,
memorabilia and artefacts covering multi periods.
Try your hand at a variety of weapons at the Airsoft booth or see the
real thing in the armoury where a private collection of over 200
personal weapons from the matchlock to the Kalashnikov are on display
and explained to you by expert curators. Learn how to operate four key
weapons and earn your certificate!
The entry price includes admission to the Royal Gunpowder Mills and its
award-winning exhibition on the history and manufacture of gunpowder,
cordite and other explosives from the days of Guy Fawkes to rockets of
the 1970's. The site is also an important conservation area and guided
tours are available. You can find full details of the venue location at
www.royalgunpowdermills.com.
If you want to exhibit a vehicle at the event, contact the organisers
via www.millsmilitaria.co.uk. The site has full details of pitches
available and site facilities including camping (exhibitors only).
