I've just bought an ex Navy Series 3 109 from 1981. Was a fitted with radio.

Milage on it says 5,000 ? Does this mean it's possibley been round the clock ? OR, has it had a new engine. etc ? I get all the paperwork tomorrow..

Is in good condition and runs great.

What do you think ?

Could well be genuine - it's difficult to drive very far on a ship.
Seriously, some military vehicles are very low mileage, depending on where they were based and what they were used for - you might just have struck lucky!

it could have spent its whole life on a base and never really been used, look for wear and tear on the interior (steering wheel and gearknob) as if its been round the clock they will be badly worn, of course at some point it could have had its speedo replaced

I have heard there are loads of vehicles like that in store and they service them etc - all ready in case they are ever needed for war I suppose. I doubt any military vehicle has actually gone around any click on original parts.

Sounds like you got a good buy.

probably been round the clock more than once but has been looked after...

most of the dry stored stock of series stuff will have been disposed of now..

looks good though:)
