Have read every M&S post i can find on a search and now seeing green lights in my sleep.
New to TD5 and twice I have had the M&S lights on.
First time I put it down to a slack battery terminal.
Second time I ran through all the gears twice and lights went away.
As a great believer in preventative maintenance is there some thing I can do to help alleviate the problem.
Is there any point in covering the switch with a "prevent damp" spray.
Or do I just replace the switch, which would have to be done by my garage.
Thoughts please

Thanks, vanmancan.
Will need to find someone with a Hawkeye? first.
Anyone in Renfrewshire/Glasgow area who could help?
Have been looking at cost of replacement switch.
Unbelievable £260- £380 app.
Found an excellent post on an Australian LR forum with photos on how to repair the unit. Very very good and instructive to those who can do this.

cheers

Have you tried some electric contact cleaning spray on the switch and it's plug into loom . Plus check the aircon drip pipe is clear of the switch . Don't forget to disconnect the batt b4 you unplug switch to clean . And have you check oil level in box

there could be 14 reasons for those flashing M & S even if the switch/it's connector are the most common ...why would you disturb the switch untill you are not 100% certain that's your problem, maybe it's good and you'll ruin it... get the codes read asap and start from there
