True, i get bored at pay and play. There is good laning nearby weather permitting. Im not working now until the new year so i will see if i can go up to the site and see the camping if they are interested in having us stay over
I googled "hotels near much wedlock" the nearest town and got 2 b&b's, a hotel and a holiday cottage.
Plus the premier bin you described. And there is a novotel at the telford international centre I've stayed in a few times, that has more than enough rooms and isn't too far away.
If your not going to be part of the proper anniversary group your going to have to compromise on accommodation i think
bit selfish that ginge.some of us CANNOT use camping facilities.that is why accomodation is required..

Dont think Ginge was saying hotels not imp - Not too far away though. Finding a large enough place, with facilities , for us all to gather is the most imp aspect I think and as long as there are places within a reasonable distance that's good.
Its unlikely we'll find somewhere big enough with hotels within walking distance I suspect

well I read it as saying the meet is the most imp bit and the accommodation may have to be a compromise -distance wise, as a result - nothing more

I know there are some who can't/dont want to camp, thats why i fought of buildwas because i know there are some b&b's in the area.

But I'm not the only one with an aversion to camping, even among the laning lot .

News from Frickley....
Had a slightly more productive chat with Charlie today and have an email address that goes directly to him instead of through the office.
Their standard set of fees (bearing in mind that they're geared to purely off-roading) is £5 per adult for camping per night, no set fee for caravans but they have had 60+ there at one time. 6 electric hook-ups, negociable fee.
Space wise he says they have ajoining grazed fields which they simply open up as necessary.
The showers and toilets are what he describes as 'rustic' (don't expect carpets) but are clean and functional.
For exclusive use of the off-road course itself they charge a flat rate of £200 for up to 20 vehicles per day. I forgot to ask if that is their max capacity for the course (probably) and if they have to be the same 20 all day (hopefully not) but that will become clear with the next email conversation.
I tried to describe as best I could in my near hallocinatory state what it is we are wanting to do (marquees, social, activities, camping, caravans, day visitors) and he didn't seem fazed at all.
The upshot is it looks like Frickley is a possibility with fees negociable for different aspects of the weekend.
A charge for general use as a gathering site which could be split equally between everyone
Off-road course hire split between those wanting to play split into half days or something similar.
Camping/caravan fee with or without lecky.
There's probably more but I'm having trouble thinking straight but it appears to cover the basics.....of course I haven't seen it so I'll see if I can get a little clearer with Charlie (he said we probably won't get a reply until after the weekend) and if all seems good perhaps someone can do a proper site visit and take some pics.
Whether Frickley turns out to be the best option or not at least it feels like positive progress at last
