I replaced my injector washers and seals. When I unpluged the injectors, it was hard to remove them. But after replacing washers and seals, it is easy to plug and unplug into head. My washers are LR Genuine (packed LR) but seals are OEM not packed, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122548471074?ul_noapp=true. I asked the seller LR parts, they told me the seals are pr2 by allmakes 4x4 (OEM range). I wonder if the seals are manufactured same as the washers and the quality is not good as LR Genuine. Do I need to replace them with LR Genuine?

Why would the quality of parts supplied by a manufacturer for a vehicle manufacturer, Land Rover in this instance, be any different to those that have been purchased by the manufacturer and therefore taken ownership of them. and placed their brand name on them?

I used to work at Quinton Hazell and we used to make water pumps for Land-rover and also the brackets. They had another factory in Kent which sent power steering pumps to us and we mounted the this and the water pump we made to the bracket and then shipped the assembly to Land Rover They were produced on the latest CNC machining centres and had rigorous QA checks. I don't know if these same pumps were packaged as OE for dealers. The pumps made on the aftermarket part of the factory were not made to such stringent standards, but I don't know if they made these pumps.

Another thing i figured out myself about the "OEM" trick used by many sellers: it can be any factory which makes one original part for a vehicle manufacturer, not necessarily for LR, and not necessarily ''expert" in those parts, as it makes one original part it can be called "original equipment manufacturer" cos in reality it is just that it doesnt make genuine parts for LR... a real jungle out there when it comes to business, that's why the only 100% reliable parts are the Genuine LR ones or if it's too expensive better get one made by a reputable manufacturer which is named not that generic "OEM" thing where the manufacturer is a mystery untill eventually you see it on the part after you got it out from the blue box... if it's there

Common sense plays a part here, if its misison ctitical ie engine parts its got to be genuine or a name you trust and not in a blue box.
Same with filters bascially anything that can cause a breakdown, buy quality.
Ive seen it on aftermarket truck parts at work, some steering joints showing signs of wear in 12 weeks, brake pads not lasting between 8 week inspections and so on.

See if genuine discs or filters aren’t fitted in the D3s they can cause untold Argo

What’s argo

Hi mate

From reading on the D3 forum where not using genuine fuel filter can cause limp mode and non genuine front front brake discs can cause brake shudder

Know many also say to use a genuine engine filter only

Alas don’t know the actual percentage and indeed just whats been reported

Nope non oe discs are fine, just dont buy cheap non oe discs ie britpart or nomame.
Fitted Delphi discs to mine and that must be three eyars ago.

Now on a truck i would say only buy/fit genuine discs/pads as the pattern ones really are false economy
