lpg tank capacity

Fill valves should auto-shutoff at 80% - if it's doing any less, you may have the tank mounted at the wrong angle. Typically, cylinder tanks need to be mounted with the valves exactly 30 deg off the vertical.

It also depends on how good the pump is filling you up. I can only get 60 liters in my 100 liter tank at my local shell but 80 liters in the autogas specialist.

My BBQ does not suffer from this problem!
As I take the tank( sorry canister) to the callor gas man ?

Anyone on here ever see a propane tank explode?

I have ! And it would make you really re-consider strapping a bomb to your car!

Now I'm gonna be inundated by folk telling me how safe LPG is!

NOT,
Lol

Why would it explode? They're massively overengineered.

Impact!
These things don't like getting pierced in a collision!
I once sore an LPG tank that was hit by a FOrk lift truck open up like a pancake,
Luckily enough there wasn't any naked flames around.

But the air for 30 feet turned into a vapour of gas.
Quite impressive to witness.

A decent shunt from the rear, sever one of the pipes and bang goes the theory:eek::eek:

I think it's pretty well protected between all the chassis bits. Plus it's pretty solid itself. With a towbar fitted, there is an additional crossmember as well.

The pipes can be severed, but I believe they all have self sealing valves.

I'm not worried about it. At least it's not a carcinogen.

You sure about that? Carbon Monoxide from the combustion of LPG is pretty noxious:eek:

Like anything, there's always an element of risk involved eh?
Same capacity with my 95L LPG tank tho, 74-76 Litres at about 200psi.
