loud noise from dash?

every time i get in the car and its started its like a loud whirring motor running from behind the vents/centre console and its always there never off no matter what i do is this right? are all p38s this loud is this normal? doesint sould like it to me!!!!!!!!

Read somewhere that there is a Air Con temp sensor behind the dash that has a little fan that flows air over it so that it gives a better reading? Could it be this?

fan is behind grill in vicinity of clock

right sounds about there is there an easy way in to check

Next time you go to a garage with an air line, give it a good blast through the vent under the clock. It may have loads of fluff etc on it.
Good practice to do it every couple of months.

I will try that soon as i can manage to make it to one lol

i think it's great when it works,but a barsteward when it doesn't.

i wouldint know mines has never worked well the button anyway for up and down would like to see it working though! maybe one day

i have bought an old laptop with dedicated serial port its coming tomorrow at some point have been advised to try that so hopefully!! i say that evertime i try something and never works in 8 weeks of trying i have never had one ff

its actually more like coming from the 2 center vents and when i press the air con button i think and the orange light comes on the noise stops so something to with aircon? any ideas and yes im cluless! before i get a stupid remark lol
