loud clicking noise

I have fitted a new battery on my 2002 1.8 freelander, if it is left for say 2-3 hours or overnight when you switch on the ignition there is a very loud clicking noise coming from the glove box area. It starts off fast but if left for 30 seconds to a minute it will slow down then stop. It never did it before, has any one got any ideas please.

found out what it was, a wire was trapped in an arm on what I think is a motorised unit which closes the inlet to the heater system to give you re-circulated air. With it jamming it it was ratcheting on the plastic cogs and making a hell of a noise.
