I've just got a 2000 freelander td4 got a few niggles with it ie Windows (been told it's the chicken wire motor) locking (only driver and passenger rear doors unlock via fob or key) and the 3 amigos along with kids of brake lights which using previous posts on here narrowed down to brake light switch (first port of call) any help on where I could pickparts up cheap and any advice would be greatlyappreciated. I'm west mids based.
Many thanks

If you get the modified brake switch make sure you get the wire harness with it.just shop around I got my brake switch for 3 quid off amazon.

It was on a flash deal and didn’t come with the harness,The standard one I just fitted today on my father in laws was Amazon product
Which seems to have sorted the problem but it’s sorn at the moment so can’t take it on a full drive.

No 2 min job just a bit awkward to get back in,well that one was.Look right up and it’s next to your brake peddle you will see the harness coming off it and it was quarter of a turn and it comes out.Thats the modified one (the pic)completely different connection might be worth double checking in case it been changed.

No problem, nope sorry other than they are cr&p,I replaced the rear window mechanism as the wire had snapped but nothing in regards to locks/locking,I’m sure there will be some information on here somewhere though.

Thank you. Any knowledge on locking and windows at all

Windows will be the cables rusted through and snapped (common). The doors locking problem will be the lock actuator assembly (again common). Just replace the lock assembly and the problem will go away.

Ebay/Amazon are great for cheap parts but if you need something quick or can't wait for postage I can recommend John Craddocks in cannock. Not a million miles from you in kiddie, there might be someone more local but they've got a good stock and prices are very good.

Also equicar4x4 in bilston, decent breakers of most 4x4s but predominantly land rovers
