I'm asking a genuine question...
Servicing wise, I've got a Porsche trained mechanic as a best mate, and another mate who has a masters in race engine design, and works for the Renault Formula 1 team.
Gearbox wise, I'm very good friends with the owner of Selector Gearbox, Paul.
And another friend owns a tyre garage (Belmont tyres), where all the wheel alignment and tracking an anything else wheel wise is taken care of.
And as far as audio and in car entertainment, and in car electrics are concerned, I'm good friends with the owner of Mega-Watt in Runcorn. Steve is a whiz when it comes to anything to do with wires.
I suppose you make friends with people like this when you've been involved in a motorsport garage though...
So anything mechanical or electrical is taken care of as far as I'm concerned, I'd just like to know if a car with built in sat nav is really worth the extra money.

More than you'd like to believe...
But he's not a snobby mechanic, he works on anything. Although he does like his quick cars. He's built a (genuine) 550bhp daily driver Subaru that done really well at the Scooby Shootout the other year. Finished third overall, behind Zen Performance, and Andy Forest, two purpose built drag cars.
He even works on my Shogun when that needs anything doing, and he's the only person I trust with my Fiat.

Yeah, he knows him, and Paul was the one who sorted my Shogun boxes out.
And the Fiat is 13 years old now, and it was running over 300bhp. It's not his work, it's parts that keep giving in. Mainly oil seals in the turbo, and the auxiliary has broken twice, but luckily never taken out the cam belt.
But he gives it a full service every 1000 miles for me.

to answer your question, buy the vogue with the toys already in. the sat nav unit cant without changing the loom be fitted to the hse. even your friend who is good with wires would struggle with that task.
