long shot - anyone got a Rover V8 spare?

I'm in the process of gathering bits to do a V8 conversion on my series III 88. It will happen at the same time as a chassis swap to a new galvanised one. I've got hold of engine mounts and a conversion ring and I'm at the stage of trawling the dreaded ebay for a decent engine.

I thought I'd ask if anyone was doing the reverse and taking a V8 out and so had an engine for sale as Ebay is such a minefield and finding a reasonably priced runner is proving difficult!

I may have one available in the coming weeks. Are you after a particular spec? I haven’t got enough posts to officially list it for sale on here … unless we have a very long discussion … but happy to share my spec

I assume my reply was too late ... did you manage to find a new V8? Mind if I ask how much you paid for it?

I'm not much of a forum person, as you have probably gathered.

Long story, arent they all? A friend had a spare V8 I didn't know about, so I acquired that. I also acquired a v8 discovery to go and collect it with as he's in Kent and I'm in yorkshire. . Then when I was collecting he told me he's selling is P5B coupe, so I bought that as well.....

Once I started stripping the 88 the chassis is too far gone, I've bolted the bits back on and its waiting in line for some garage time. I have an old jag thats just been finished, the rover is next for some minor fixes, then another jag I have, then the 88 gets fixed.

The disco has been playing up and I couldn't get it sorted so I came back here for help, then I saw the reply, sorry!
