I want to fit locking diffs to my 1989 90.I had ARBs on a previous vehicle but found the compressor a pain and air lines damaged by vegetation.Thinking about Detroit locker rear and Tru-trac front but concerned about tales of rear end breakaway on sideslopes.Any use feedback would be appreciated.:)

you had a 'true' locker before so the detroits will act much the same. Another company to look at are Kam, they do an electronically activated locker and now produce one that runs as an LSD with the option to fully lock it when needed... neat.

I had a detroit fitted to the back of my 90 if you like to drive fast on the tarmac it will catch you out in the wet. if you drive sensibly then its ok. Trutrac not had one yet byt spitfiremk1uk has fitted a trutrac front and detroit rear to his series project. IT is the cheapest FIT and FORGET setup about.

Thanks for your valid comments guys.Sadly I cant recall ARBs as 20 yrs ago.Dont remember if I ever locked on a steep sideslope.I have looked atKAM on web but love the idea of simplicity and "fit and forget" Detroits.Naturally Ialways drive sensibly!!Lock on!
