Wondered if anyone can tell me the location of the air intake on a Discovery? Just wondering how deep a flood I can safely negotiate.

(PS Sorry but I'm not sure of the differences between Disco 1, 2, 3 etc )

TIA

LR state 500mm so regardless of snorkel height that's ya limit.

Anyone who goes wading thru flood water expecting it all to be the same depth needs their heads examining.

But to answer ya ??
200tdi the inlet is in the wing just above the wheel
300tdi it's behind the Passenger side headlamp housing.. pretty low really
TD5 & d3 & D4 I int gotta clue.

LOL....thanks guys. I'll settle for those sorts of depths. Just that round here with the weather we've been getting there is one part that does get flooded and we get stranded. Looking to buy a decent secondhand Td5 but suddenly realised that if the air intake was only 3" above the ground (joking) then I would be onto a non-starter...literally and metaphorically.

If it did then I'd be a happy man. Just wait for a tyre question or "why has it got 2 gear sticks"

Great... very helpful reply. Did it not occur to you before you engaged your cynicism that perhaps I hadn't yet bought the bloody thing?

Oooooh hand bags at 10 paces. Was a silly question to ask. So your buying a car without looking under the bonnet?

OK...I will say this very very slowly. Forums are usually there to give help and advice. Not for some wise-arse to make snide replies while typing with one hand leaving the other free to .......
