Any tips on driving down steep roads in snow... other than don't...
cudnt yu turn around and just lower yoself down on yo winch?
All of a sudden there is not much confidence in the abilities of the P38 when exposed to extreme conditions!!
Down hill, on the brakes, on ice is going to be the same in any vehicle, 4wd is no advantage, it's purely a factor of what friction your tires can generate with the ice. So aside from not getting yourself into a dangerous situation by going too fast, use 1st gear low box, if it starts to slide give it a little gas to generate steering control again, once you've straightened up lift off again. don't touch the brakes.
If there is any snow you can push through the ABS to get that wedge of snow going in front of the tires, that is one big advantage of the P38.
If it all goes pear shaped try and get two wheels into the verge where it's more likely to generate stopping power.
