Hi I'm new to this site & wondered in desperation if anyone can help? I have an 03 td4 hardback & the roof has started leaking terribly, where the hardback clips on near the triangular windows both sides. Has anyone else had this problem & found a remedy. Thanks in anticipation. Freddy.

Have you had the top off ? if so you may have kinked the seals when you put the top back on mine has never been a bit of bother and we have certainly had some rain

Good luck

Which clips?

They leak from the two seams/splits on top of the hardback.

If the FL is parked facing downhill slightly this tracks the water forward and runs off the inside trim. The 1/4 panels where the seatbelt is and corners of seats tend to get soaked.

Some black silicone along the seams ;)

We havnt had the top off for ages, so I don't think the seals have kinked or anything like that, but will check tonight, hopefully it won't be raining. The FL was however parked facing down hill & on closer inspection the water wasn't coming in near the top clips, it was exactly where you said, near the quarter panels, wetting the corner of the seats & seatbelts. Could this be it?

Possibly? If there is enough water/condensation it will eventually overflow from the trim and over the seats.
Seal up the two seams

If left for a while it can go quite mouldy in the header space between the trim and hardtop.

Here's one I did earlier ;)

It was a good strength mastic Tec7 or CT1

Smooth off the bead and let it cure before tidying up the join. You'll only get it everywhere LOL
In the attachment ( it's the outer seam as viewed from the back door) I have just left the excess, a scraper with easily remove the excess once cured

Mine has just started leaking in the same spot.. Trying to source the Tec7 sealant and I can't find it.

Anyone know where to buy it?
