I am thinking of buying a 2000 Disco II but the owner's said their mechanic says they have a leaky head gasket. The mechanic told them its not really something worth fixing?!? But from what I've read it will lead to blown gaskets and a plethora of engine trouble. Should I just steer clear of the vehicle or ask them to get the issue fixed before buying?
Thanks!

Two things u can do find out thr cost to replace the gasket and knock that off the asking price or as u say ask for it to be fixed. Or go and have a look at another disco2 there's hundreds on the market for sale.

It really is up 2u.

It may just be the gasket, so a gasket set and a few hours would fix it.
Say £100 tops.

It would be quite another matter if the cylinder head was found to be cracked or burned. That would add several more hundred £s I think.
