Hi all.
The clutch was drinking fluid so i thought new slave, new damper - job done.
Wrong.
Took off old slave, pushrod followed it out naturally but all was dry and fine
Damper was a bit wet so i thought it was leaking - new one should sort that.
I put the slave back and thought i'd got the rod in the fork ok - WRONG!!!!
Fitted the damper and bled her up, pedal was soft, gave it a shove to be greeted with no pedal. Turns out the pushrod had gone OVER the top of the fork and the slave had spat its piston, rubber gland and pushrod out into the clutch
After spending 20 mins swearing, i ripped it all out and managed to reassemble the lot, this time i made sure the rod went in right.
Bled it out and got a good pedal, but the damper was still dripping, turns out the flexi pipe to master cylinder was not sealing when tight I'm guessing that it had been seriously overtightened and was mashed.
Of course, the shops are all shut now so thats it until monday
Unless there is another way to seal it up????
Basically the whole job was not needed, just a bloody pipe!!!!
I had thought that a small copper washer might do the job??
Any ideas???
Dave
