Largest 'puddle' to attempt

Just a curious question..

How deep a puddle can a P38 go through on normal flat road setting? After the bad rain recently, and a few rivers by me flooding, I was curious.

Theres a village nearish me which has a river that runs round it. The village it safe as its on high ground but the roads into the village reguarly flood and the roads have raised footpaths and depth markers along the road. I went through the village the other day when there had been all the rain and the roads were flooded and the water was upto the 1 foot marker, maybe a little higher, I put my P38 in high mode and went straight through no problems. I had to go back the same way later on that day and again went through no problems. Its says in the manual somewhere what the max wading depth is but I cant remember it right now. 1 foot is probably nothing

P.S. Just read the the question again about normal road setting, ermm, not sure I would of gone through if I couldnt of raised the vehicle up. Maybe someone else will know.

Thanks for that. I am waiting for the manual to arrive, as I forgot it when I bought the car (too excited with my new toy)... Will take a look when it arrives in the next few days

Just tear it through them dont think about how deep the puddles are just think of all the innocent bystanders getting drenched when you go ripping through while everyone else tiptoes around them!

Just had a look at the book and it says maximum advisable wading depth is 20inches (0.5 meters), anything above this depth select high suspension height put some plastic sheet in front of the radiator to prevent debri blocking it and make shure air filter stays above water level at all times, keep revs up and keep moving.
I havent attempted any floods with this car yet but if it`s anything like my old classic i had that with water up to the bonnet and no problems.
