Landrover special vehicles

Whats so special about Landrover Special Vehicles?
I saw a defender for sale that stated it was a genuine landrover special vehicle. Looked normal to me.

If it's genuine it will have been handed to landrovers special vehicles department for modifications to have been done. It could be something as simple as heavy duty springs fitted. It could be lots of mods.

yes, but in their case the word special is used as it is when the word school follows it

i fink 120k of those miles were being towed its only really done 1k with the engine and doors attached
