Post a picture so we can identify it, but if it's a 5 door, it's possibly a Freelander 2 commercial, which has a 2.2L engine.

I've put pictures up now definitely s1 2.0lt deisol engine can't find anything about it everyone says thay never built it but I have 1 other thing is it was first registered in 07 on log book but underneath that it says first registered in UK in 17

It is a Freelander 1 TD4 5 door.

Looks like someone has taken out rear seat, added some non matching carpet and mastic around the windows so that they won't open.

It is a very late reg and possibly one of the last Freelander 1s.

Definitely not a convertion Duxford are looking at it as thay think it was a prototype for the s2 or possibly came from the special vehicle division and was not ment to be sold to the public

VIN comes back with...

SALManufacturer code: Land Rover
LNModel: Freelander
AWheel base: 100.6 inch, standard trim
BBody type: 5-door station wagon
EEngine type: 2.0 litre Td4 diesel
1Steering and transmission: Right-hand drive (RHD), 5-speed Steptronic automatic
6Model year: 2006
AAssembly location: Solihull, UK

I think if an engineer in Gaydon/Solihull had sealed the windows up like that, showing such little skill, they would have been sacked.

I can't think of any way the F1 could have been a test mule for anything in the F2, they are to different in all aspects.

Some very romantic ideas of the car's history, but I think not.

Windows were sealed up and plated over with aluminium and carpeted sealant could not be seen from the outside only visible after I removed paneled and window tint

It's an interesting one, but it doesn't appear to have been done by LR. Maybe it was a coach built conversion on a new vehicle. The VIN is coming up as a TD4 auto 5 door waggon, with no mention of going to LR special vehicles for modification.

It's also missing the SV badges on the wings (which all vehicles prepared by SVO get), and it doesn't seem to have the SVO VIN on the slam panel, which would prove it's an LR prepared special vehicle. No SVO VIN basically means it wasn't done by LR, but by a coach builder, or even an individual wanting a 5 door commercial.

If it has an SV VIN plate on the slam panel (it contains the special order contract number), then Special Vehicles department prepared the vehicle. If it doesn't, then it wasn't done by LR.

It was obviously built as a standard car but for whatever reason was not registered until 2017. Probably the person that registered it decided to convert it to commercial before registering to avoid the stupidly high road tax for a car built in that year.
