Hello All

Who can I send my LR3 DISCO 2.7 to have the engine issues resolved, dreaded oil light and car stopped so expect a lightening of the wallet just want to go to a trustworthy engine repairer or supplier to have repaired and ensure quality work is carried out ??? Help happy to travel anywhere in UK for quality work....

Also read that the Jag S Type engine fits ...any advise on going down this route too ..... any complications ??
Hello all and thanks in anticipation re any advice.

The sunbeam street one goes under many names and they offer to pick your motor up from anywhere fix it and deliver it back but most pay fortunes and lose the car as well, so avoid ones like that.
a good personal recommendation is always best
Good luck with your plight.
@gstuart is clued up on the D3 so may be able to add some pointers.

The Jaguar 2.7 engine is similar as is the citroen 2.7 diesel.
They are the Ford Lion engine but ancillaries will be differerent, eg Jag S-Type has 2 turbos.
I believe the basic engine is the same.

Hi

Welcome and sorry to hear the start of D3 ownership isn’t a good one

Indeed many buy a running S type jag, swap everything over, then sell the S type to regain some cash

Sump is also different, D3 has a deeper one because of off roading

Plenty more will see ur post over in the disco section

Thanks for the reply, love the landrover D3 and owned for many years ....cost me loads of money every time it sees a garage and this is regular but still love it when it works, dont do lots of miles as I can trust it bit local and in deep snow and ice where i live it does well, got the KIA dare I say for reliability, just wish LR would made something reliable like the old days ....hey ho

Went to the coast yesterday in Croatia saw 3 vehicles broken on the motorway sorry to say 2 were Landrovers !! another was mercedes.... what more can be said any happy woth it being a British bulldog abroad the landrover keeps me poor !!

Mine is currently broken on the UK but need to get it done to bring it our here. with good breakdown cover of course

OK S Type Jag purchased hypothetically and engine is now on the floor ready to be installed.

What parts should I replace on the engine to try and give me some reliability ie cambelts, egr valve or blanks, oil pump water pump ?? can anybody give me a MUST DO list on the replacement engine before its fitted to the LR....all help appreciated thanks in advance.
