the best help for heroes would be to bring em back home....they should never have been sent by a bunch of lying cheating bastid polititions in the first place.....AND.....those that have been hurt shouldn't have to rely on handouts....its a DISGRACE.
Young lads are being blown to bits because feckin polititions are to afraid to lose face

well said that man,i fully agree with you.:clap2::clap2::clap2::clap2:

It does seem like a lot of peeps are organising "charity events"?? That seem to net them an awful lot of profit for themselves. If they advertised it as been run entirely by voluntunteers and 100% of the profits to The charity concerned. I'm sure that more people would be happy to contribute..

Doesn't say much for their organisation that they're onlt expecting 500 landys out of tens of thousands that are out there.

Strewth redhand … so cynical! A few points to allay your concerns …

“All profits from the event will go to the charity Help for Heroes”. That’s stated loud and clear on the homepage of the website. You’ve obviously never run a ‘charity event’, for if you had you would realise that there are always hidden costs involved, and unless you have the financial clout to fund the event out of your own pocket, then some of the admission/camping fees have to be diverted to meet these costs. A mate who is a farmer can give you a field, but you still have to supply water, toilets, etc. The Motor Heritage Centre at Gaydon is a registered charity itself, so they are not going to simply let event organisers turn up and run an event for nothing, even if it is for Help for Heroes, cancer, feed the planet, whatever!

No organiser is making a profit for themselves from CONVOY for HEROES. In fact everyone involved from the bottom to the very top is paying for entry, admission and optional camping exactly the same as everybody else!!!

CONVOY for HEROES is being run by volunteers.

The target of 500 is sensible – I’ll explain exactly why. To break the record is not as easy as folk think. In recent years the Dutch and the Belgians tried it not once but twice. They failed on both occasions, and this was despite having 800 Land Rovers at the first attempt, 1,200 at the second. If the logistics aren’t right it will fail. The event was established with only 260 Landies, but as it was done correctly in the eye of the adjudicating panel at Guinness World Records™, the record was verified. Besides, I go back to my guess that you’ve never run an event before. Have you any notion what it’s like to corral 500 vehicles? Plus of course there are all the spectators and traders vehicles to accommodate! No, didn’t think so.

Fair enough for being sceptical redhand, it’s the age we live in, but let me assure you … CONVOY for HEROES is 100% genuine. It’s being organised and marshaled by volunteers all of whom are Land Rover enthusiasts, and the folk ‘at the top’ so to speak are decent people with only one intention – to raise as much money as possible for what is a very worthy cause.

Yes the Help for Heroes charity is the flavour of the month at the moment, you seem to see it everywhere, but that’s only because the British public have finally realised that our Armed Forces are doing a stirling and often thankless task out in Afghanistan, so deserve our support when they return home either injured or traumatised by the whole sorry affair that is war.

Now you realise what this event is all about, I trust you will be joining us next April?

Correct I wouldn't fight for something I do not believe in, bush, blair and brown are war criminals.

I would have happily been a resistance fighter/spy or fighter pilot in world war two.

There is no gallantry or honor in fighting a war that has needlessly killed innocent people.
My opinion would be secure the countries frontiers and contain the **** in the country.

refusing an order would make you look a **** and get you filled-in

The Armed forces is away of life not a job you knock off at 5 and forget.

Bob you have just made ya self look a prick.

I wouldn't be anything in current conflict, it is a conflict without honor and is part of America's empire building scheme.

Your not fighting for your own people, your fighting for a cesspit **** hole and a poorly educated backward nation.

Here's an Idea a British foreign legion-send prison scum out there.

i understand what your saying, but when you sign up you have to go where they tell you to,no if's or buts.:(;)

I hear what your saying, but I think history will be the judge of things and I wouldn't join up unless my very way of life was under threat.(current conflicts are nothing like world war 2)

Lock down the cesspit, not stir up a hornets nest- Vietnam springs to mind.

which is exactly why I would never sign up.....I dont trust the feckers as far as I can throw em.......ffs we live in a country where a woman was arrested under anti-terror laws for reading out the names of british forces KIA within 1km of no10???? god help anyone who mentions Iraqi/Afgan civilians....women....children

thats ok in theory, but what do you say to the soldier that has joined up before any of these conflicts started.ie the gulf war etc.

Also it ****es me off that their is the implication that it is done on our behalf and without consultation we all agree or are un patriotic.

From various independent accounts I am convinced that 9/11 was staged as too many very peculiar things.
