This should be passed to as many people as possible! ...

When VAT was temporarily reduced to 15%, the Chancellor added 2% duty to fuel to offset the reduction in tax collected from motorists.

Motorists were not to benefit from the VAT reduction, but they didn't tell us that at the time. Cheating lying scumbags.

Now that VAT has been increased to 17.5% again this hidden tax has not been removed - hence recent rises in your fuel costs.

CHEATING LYING SCUMBAGS!

Sign the petition at the link below to have this stealth tax removed!

Petition to: Fuel duty reduction, now VAT has increased to 17.5%, please deduct the duty which was levied when vat was reduced to 15%. | Number10.gov.uk

Please pass this on to your friends - the more the merrier.
Happy motoring!

I hear you Charlesy...but you know as I...those petitions aren't worth a damn...doubt they get further than a shredder right behind the door of no 10...

Unfortunately it doesnt matter whos in power...all politicians will nod and say the right thing to get in power...then they couldn't give a damn for 4 long years whilst they feather their nest before jumping onto the gravy train which is called 'european parliament' afterwards..

Bunch of Bastids.

I'm not so sure. I remember when they tried to sneak through their proposed extortionate road tax increases blaming all those nasty polluting 4 wheel drives. I was one of the first 2000 to sign that petition which went on to get around 1.5 million signatures. That coupled with the bad publicity when people finally realised it affected most 1.8-2 litre engined cars as well meant a swift u-turn though I expect they'll still try it on in the future. Many voices can sometimes sway a decision but not always. I've definitely signed, nothing to lose.

Look face it, if it wasn't on your fuel it would be extra income tax or something and if you think 2p on a litre is bad enough you wait till they work out how they are going to pay back the budget deficit, I think we owe something like £14,000 for every man, woman and child in the UK and it's growing daily.

Seem's what most peeps are willing to do, give the politician's a free reign and they'll just take, take, take. The recent MP's expenses fiasco is a prime example of how we need to keep an eye on them and keep them on their toes. They're all lying freeloader's.

The amount of time you spent drafting this reply, you could have signed it & emailed one of your mates.

the problem is that all politicians only care about themselves and their paymasters ( they forget about us) the sooner the whole rotting ediface is torn down the better.
the one thing that scares all of em is a hung parliament, so thats what we've got to give em.
