L.H.front wheel hot & smells.

Hi people
Just driven about 15klms.in very wet conditions,on getting out notice a horribule smell & steam/smoke coming from in side of front wheel.the wheel was also hot to touch. Any ideas please?
Also the 3 amegos came on acouple of times on Christmasday,but every thing seemed to be working ok.The last time they came on was about 5yrs ago when off roading,a L.R.mekk.told me to switch off & wait about 5mins before starting her up again---AOK.
And last but not least wind skreen whipers get hung up for a second or two when changing speed.

Could be heat generated from a stuck caliper or a disintegrating wheel bearing.

wheel bearing i would think needs checking and caliper and slides
