klunk!!

been up to kirton lindsay today in a mates disco 1, (awsome place), went round a couple of times until it gave up......
tried to go up a hill and theres was serious klunk, also happened in engine braking on the way back to the car park,
any ideas would be very welcome, not sure whether its the front diff or the transfer box....cheers...dave...

Crystal ball time..... again

loose bowling ball in the boot? where was the clunk? steering, engine, transmission?

Could be as simple as wheel bearings. Just replaced mine coz front drivers side went from fine to in bits and crunching like mad in a matter of 2 mins.

it could also be 50 odd other things though!

i'm thinking its the transfer box, cos a u.j is also knackered....its under the centre console...

and i know i have a bearing in bits on the right rear...

if yer drivin round with a knackered uj and a broken wheelbearing id guess the nut behind the wheel wants sortin aswell.

gonna dismantle it this weekend and have a sort round it...cheers all...

an update on the klunk...

it did indeed turn out to be the transfer box...:bounce:
