Hi there I hope you can help me.

when i use my remote lock opener, the passenger door lock pops up but when you try to open the door it drops down a little and keeps the door locked.for the life of me i cannot see how to adjust it so the door can be open.

D1 or D2 ?...that would be important

What u have is the symptom of a D1s faulty lock spring with the door pin rising and dropping back down slightly relocking the door.
Holding the pin up while unlocking should enable you to open the door.

thank you that works is there a way to fix this problem as i use the passenger door a lot?

my disco is a 1997 D1 hope you can tell me how to fix this problem oh and happy easter from australia.

I changed this 2 or 3 times on my Disco 1. As with all jobs, it became easier with practice. Follow the instructions an just take your time. Only other advice is to watch the small rods near the lock and if possible have a spare clip to keep the rods in situ. I damaged one of mine and this prevented me completing the job.

thanks however i am still stuck my springs are ok could it be another problem. like i said when you use the remote the lock pops up but as soon as you go to open the door the door lock drops about a mm and locks the door again.

how do you know the springs are ok?

when i checked the springs where not broken and the door openers where working fine.

So you checked the very small PITA springs as shown in the how to above?
And you say they are OK,

Is this a new problem or has it been there a long time? did it start after you had been in and played with the door in any way?

Have you tried adjusting the rods in the mechanism?
