Hi all,

Do all disco 300tdi's have a key fob?

I bought a 300tdi before Christmas and have been fixing problems it has acquired in its 17 years. I have fixed the central locking and made sure that it all works correctly. But my car requires a key to lock and unlock. Should my car have a key fob? It's a 94. I'm not really able to find much information about this and would like to know before persuing a replacement key fob, or the option of fitting a replacement alarm system.

Regards Steve.

"Should my car have a key fob" well your disco left the factory with two.:)
You will require a single button fob to match the frequency thats is stated on the side alarm ecu, there's lots of info about single button fobs and how to program them your self if you do a search.

Hi thanks for the reply, I was unsure wether it had a key fob at all that was what I was meaning. Now I know that it deffo had a fob I'll have a look at trying to ge the frequency. Would this be under the passenger side of the dash with the ecu?

Regards Steve.

The ecu is to the left of the glovebox, a black box with a tv coax style plug. The frequency will be 418Mhz very early, or 433mhz from VIN MA 081992 pt. no. AMR2109 which I would bet on, the info will be on a sticker hopefully you can see it with out touching or removing the ecu. It's best to check.

But is it possible to obtain a replacement fob and programme it if you dont have one in the first place,(sorry for butting in but i am in the same boat)
Dev
