key fob not working

havent had my p38 long but it dose come with a few problems one of the is the keyfob when i press any of the buttons nothing happens the red light is bright so batterys must be ok but doors will not lock or unlock and the engine starts ok can anyone help

Might need syncing. Cannot remember the procedure. Think you press unlock and then unlock with the key, then press lock and lock with the key. Might take a few attempts.

it'll need the RF unit connected under the right rear parcel shelf connected. In fact that miggt be the issue. Try putting it on the rear right window then pressing the button.

hi had alook under the rear parcel self and found that the rf unit had been changend and the orginal still there swapped it over but nothing happend tried that key syncing but no luck

If you manually lock/unlock the driver's door, do the others lock/unlock too?

EKA and or immobiliser are possibly disabled in BECM if you can lock and unlock car with key.
