the P38 comes back to bite you in the ass. After all the fun since buying it I now have the exhaust sorted, have changed out the binding caliper and this week managed to actually get cruise control working (rotary coupler was the culprit).

Then I get in the car and the ***** starts shaking under acceleration. The vibration can be felt mainly through the steering wheel but rattles keys etc in the holders

Any bright ideas on this given the experience of P38 weak spots on the forum ? Wheel bearings ? Gearbox ?

It was the UJ at the back of the front prop. Now taken prop off to ensure it doesn't come at me thru the floor and off to order either new UJ or complete front prop assembly. Thing that is p***ing me off is that with the amount of money I spent with "local specialist" I cannot believe he didn't once try to move the prop given he spent days with the car up on the ramp during the exhaust saga.

Spoke to "specialist" today. Guess I touched a nerve when I asked him how, after spending in excess of £1,500 to basically get fuel trims sorted, a rotary coupler swapped out and an exhaust fitted with the latter taking 25 hrs of his time, he managed to miss a completely knackered prop shaft.

Well an expensive lesson learnt there for me and now off to find somebody who can be a genuine specialist who doesn't want me to smile whilst they are taking the p.
