Just Bought td4 ( problems already??)

I have just bought a 2001 TD4 with 141K on the clock. I know it has some issues so hopefully i will be able to work through them with the help of people on here. I have only had the car for 1 hr checked all the windows etc all worked fine, i dropped the bloke off that i bought the car from and now the front drivers side window won't come up. Tyipical. If i press the button it moves a couple of mm in either direction. I have tried to lift the window and press the button but it wont move. From reading on here it sound like the mechanism? Is there a way to get the window up manually?

As you will have probable worked out it will the cables, I know you have tried to pull it up and work the switch, If you get a good hold of window either side with some one else working switch some times it works, if not then door card off and its a bit of fiddling. I have done a couple of cable repair kits and have not had a issue with them.
If you decide to go down the kit route and you need a lift then give me a shout as only down the road in Earby.

thanks for the reply, and the offer to help fit. You are right i have tried liftting the window but no luck. If i take the card off can i lift the window so it is at least closed, until i can get a kit off ebay. Then i will take your kind offer.

Yes but you will need ideally remove the regulator and wedge the window shut or cut the cables but first option better, will look and see if I can find the best site for you and pm you.
