i only got back with it late last night so haven't had chance to check anything out yet.
i was averaging 60/65 mph on the way home (but it still did it at low speed) as i had to drive from poole to scunthorpe but the problem was highlighted when i took my foot off the throttle(it was like the rear end was trying to push the hole vehicle forward like in a rear end shunt)
that's the best way i can describe it.

I'd suggest sticking to a maximum of 60mph for a modded disco. The lift, tyres, etc. will mean it's not as stable as it used to be, so, for safety and comfort 60mph makes sense.

Just enjoy the scenary a bit more as you trudle along :)

:welcome2:

Have you any experience of driving land rovers or any 4x4's previously?

i've driven a lot of off road vehicles including off road wreckers as i'm ex army so i have got some idea how they react but i've never driven a modded vehicle.

It sounds like weight transfer through the drivetrain to me, get a local land rover place to take it for a drive... remember theres nearly 2 ton of metal thats attached to the wheels via a few bushes, there will always be movement...

That sounds like the rear "A" Frame ball joint. It's quite an easy fix.

Could it be a sticky caliper on the front? so one wheel is trying to brake when you come off the throttle making it a bit unstable?? See if any of the wheels are hot after a drive.

They do take some getting used to but that still doesnt sound right to me.

If calling a landy a truck ****es you off then you have anger management issues :D

Its more of a truck than a car. Goes like a truck, sounds like a truck, handles like a truck. Its a truck :p

I call my a Landy, Disco, Truck, Bus, piece of ****, all depends on my mood :D

truck

noun

any of various forms of vehicle for carrying goods and materials, usually consisting of a single self-propelled unit but also often composed of a trailer vehicle hauled by a tractor unit.

any of various wheeled frames used for transporting heavy objects.

Also called hand truck. a barrowlike frame with low wheels, a ledge at the bottom, and handles at the top, used to move heavy luggage, packages, cartons, etc.

a low, rectangular frame on which heavy boxes, crates, trunks, etc., are moved; a dolly.

a tiered framework on casters.

verb (used with object)

to transport by truck.

to put on a truck.

I was generalising but have obviously touched a nerve :D

Yu don't seriously think that after 30k posts, that I actually have any nerves left do you?? As I was the person who stated that "People get ****ed off if ya call it a truck." It didn't take a great leap of intuituion for one to assume that you were reffering to the statement I made. As no one else made that statement. Logic sort of dictated the obvious..

FOOKWIT

Don't worry too much about the comments, noobie bating is a bit of a sport on LZ. wear your "especially brave" trousers for a while and eventually they will move on to some other poor sod.
Oh and :welcome2:

Good luck with your new Landy, It doesn't sound like its too extreme so your problems are most likely just wear and tear stuff, prop UJs, ball joint's etc.
