Have been up to a few more maintenance bits over the last few days. Added another exhaust rubber. Hopefully sorted out my coolant niggle and have bought a new donut to go on. Just need to collect another breaker bar from Halfords now then will have a go at removing the old donut.

Also, the chequer plate arrived today for a few little custom bits on the inside! Got to finish painting the outside chequer plate and once hard, I'll rivet them on.

Not much happening at the moment....... work has arrived again :)

Good news you have cooled down!
Hopefully still ok for Saturday
Looking forward to seeing the chequer plate.

Removed a load of the inside today and lowered the front half of the headlining. Had a little **** on a ladder with a hosepipe soaking round the front leaky sunroof. Managed to find the leak!! :D

Got a load of silicone in a few select places around the front sunroof winder handle. It was leaking through the sunroof rubber ever so slightly when in driving rain. Standing water didn't affect it

And it is now raining... couldn't have timed it better :)

Will go out in a little while and see if there is any marks on the sheet I left laying inside. Will also check with the hosepipe tomorrow then if it has defiantly worked then the headlining can go back up after I've run a few cables to the rear.

Next job is to strip front drivers door and sort out the loud bang when opening the window. Evidence seems to be pointing to the little naughty plastic bit that likes to break

why did you **** on the ladder

Ha ha  Little **** in the context refers to a small child ;)

And we have a massive thunderstorm and huge amount of rain currently happening outside..... still no leaks :D

Lovely simple fix and I didn't even have to take it all to bits :)

I need to find some more things to fix :D

I've pulled out rear window with the help of a mate for extra arms as well as the 2 side boot windows. Just got to remove the alpines. These are being tinted in limo black and will then be refitted all with new seals apart from the alpines as these are still good.

Going in tomorrow to be tinted so will hopefully be able to fit them on Tuesday or Wednesday depending on whether the seal arrives at Landrover on Tuesday or not :?:

I'm also half way through removing all rear interior for welding work to start. I've got all the bits I need now - just need to collect some Argoshield for the welder.

Will pop a pic up of the tints when they're done incase anyone else is thinking of doing the same.

Oh dear what can the matter be......

Started cutting out passenger sill. Will be replacing inner and outer both sides as well as inner and outer rear arches both sides.

Most spot welds are drilled out now then I ran out of slitting discs and then it started raining :(

Will wait now until all signs of rain are gone as I don't want my new steel to start rusting before I can paint it!

Well it has been a right ****in hash up the past couple of days. Will add some pics soon but I'm not happy. Gonna step back and leave it for a little while before I get even more ****ed off :(

Next to sort is the boot floor.

While it isn't *too* bad, I want to do it now so all the welding is done  Then I can see to waxoyling inside and outside chassis and all underside of body.

The boot don't look too bad does it, but the sills were like Swiss cheese.

It's coming along nicely though, but you know this means if I buy a rusty disco, I'm coming over for some help.

Well Stu likes to plasma cut stuff up into bits

I can't see, realistically, that there are any "pristine" disco 1's about anymore unless there are some that have been barn stored or suchlike :blabla:

Both front propshaft uj's were changed this afternoon. Just waiting for 1 replacement bolt that was ****ed then it'll be sorted.

Will be ripping out that pesky boot floor tomorrow. Have sharpened air chisel blades today ready :D bring it on!!!

Pressed in some new UJ's last night. God does a huge workshop press save hammering and hurt fingers! A quick test drive and it seems the noise has gone. A few more journeys and I'll know for sure.

Update on boot floor............

Plasma cutter and panels = big hole! Shortly after starting it started to rain so everything was put away. Should be a nice day tomorrow so rest of the panels need removing and any hangy bits removing then I'll get the 2 side panels welded in and painted. Will also be sorting the surface rust on top of the chassis while I can get to it. Sedimentor also needs to be removed.

God almighty I've bought a lemon  All this rust wasn't visible in January when I bought the dam thing

Sadly no boot floor went in today.....

Rear crossmember was removed as it wasn't worth even trying to patch it up. Easier, quicker and probably cheaper (taking Argon and CO2 into consideration) to replace than repair.

So the plan is to stick a whacking lump of box section in and then build off **** off bumper from either some 6mm circular section or some custom fabricated 5mm plate jobbie like my front bumper.

Decisions, decisions

****ed off though, rust keeps appearing. The keen eyed of you will also see that the rear chassis crossmember is very rusty... I can see this being replaced :(

OH I can see the Concrete now, It was not like that when we had finished cutting this out...........

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, its off to get the Plasma Cutter I go.....

Well there cannot be much left to replace there Matt.
I take my hat off to you. Most people would have given up and scraped / broken it by now.

He nearly did a few times......... but sat him down with cup of tea and a choc chip muffin for a re-think.....:D:D:D.

And then took over with my calm attitude before Matt got the chance to kick the hell out of it, :D:D:D:D:D

Come to think of it most of it has gone/going down the scrapy's anyway, lol
