Whilst it's great to see someone like yourself with incredible enthusiam and passion for your hobby, please don't make the all too common mistake of putting so much kit on your landy that it ends up being way too heavy, thus compromising it's on/off road ability - it was already good in original format. ;):)
Wouldn't want to have a head on crash with you either, not with that front bumper..........it's huuuuuuge! :D:D

I was involved in a car accident (in a Focus) on an dual carriage A road not so long back so this is being armoured to the hills ;)

Not got too much more "kit" to go on to be honest with you. It's just tree sliders and little bits of protection like that. A few bit's of chequer plate too and a winch

Got sills to repair in the next few weeks when I can be arsed then it'll get waxoyled :)

Managed to get a piccy uploaded of the suspension lift I did the other week.

Terrafirma 2" Kit. Part no TF202. Medium duty 2" lift kit with all terrain shocks.

Feels much better on the road and no bangs on the sills offroad so far :D

Worth every penny!!

Nothing. Just put new springs on and the new shocks. Brake pipes seem miles long on mine. I had the axle on the floor and the body high up when I took the springs out and there was plenty there.

Only issue I've noticed is a *slight* rumble at 15-20mph which I guess is the front prop and UJ's.

Also. I need to remove the rear 2 seats in the boot to turn it into a 5 seater. It dramatically reduced my insurance as I am still "young".

Is it just 4 bolts sort of thing? And then belts?
the rear seats come out easy just basic nuts n bolts n clips! ive removed all my seats n trim as i use my disco 4 offroading and as a work van put it this way i never get stuck in the mud and i get my tools as close to the area im working no probs lol oh im a window & glass fitter

I took them out ages ago ;)

Got another courtesy light installed in the disco today. Below alpine light. Got one more to add on the other side and we'll be able to see in the boot at night :)

What I will probably end up doing is taking them off a separate switch so they can be used either on their own, with the courtesy function (existing interior lights) or off completely.

Matt what size tyre's do you have. Or ideally could you tell me what the diameter is. I want to compare to my standard type.

Hopefully see you soon
Nick.

Nick, they're 265/70/16 I think.

How's your lift coming along? Got your bits yet? If you need a hand, give me a shout or bring it round here and we can do it.

No further yet.
Kit not due in until next Monday.
Hoping to get Tuesday off, but no way i could drive it anyway. the shock is sheered and one of the cones is 60% dislocated.
Your welcome to come here if your about (provided i do get the day off  )

If you get a mo, could you measure the cap between the top of your tyre and the wing.
I've worked out that your tyres have a 42mm bigger diameter.

Meaning the cap between my tyre and wing will be 21mm bigger than that one your Disco. At least until I can get some bigger tyres - and funds are not looking good :(

That sounds about right.

Obviously the larger the tyres, the less room in and above the arches..... the reason for the lift really  When I've worn my tyres out, I'll look at getting some larger ones but not sure what the situation is at the moment as I don't really want to be cutting bodywork

Relocated the steering damper. Made up a couple of brackets from passivated 5mm steel.

Am thinking of sticking a Terrafirma damper on there when I've sorted out the welding that needs doing.

Extended breathers are now all on.

It also got a wash and polish today as I've got to meet a few important people so I thought I'd clean it :D :D :D

That was nice of you mate although I don't consider myself a VIP.

Was good to see you again yesterday, the motor is looking great. Get those sills done though. :)

Sills will be done either when I've recovered from the accident or when I have enough money to pay someone else to do it

Brain sold me his exhaust which was put on yesterday....... soooooo much more power now I have a full system (rear box broke off a long time ago) and now the cat is missing, you can actually see a little smoke out the rear now :) I reckon it was blocked to buggery

The dog guard is in its final position with half of the fixings. Just waiting for some rivnuts to arrive to fix the top to below the alpine lights then it's all sorted.

I've also ordered a sheet of chequer plate to make up a few of my own shiney bits

I've got some rivnuts here. Your welcome to a few of them.
BTW Britcar had the parts I needed Collected them this afternoon so all ready for tomorrow.
See you in the morning.

Okay nick; cheers. I was told you got the bits by my resident spy, and the required bits and bobs!! Make sure you've got biscuits as I do strike very easily.

Got to nip into britcar to grab a few exhaust mounts before I get to you. Should be looking at a 9am start at yours.

Have been up to a few more maintenance bits over the last few days. Added another exhaust rubber. Hopefully sorted out my coolant niggle and have bought a new donut to go on. Just need to collect another breaker bar from Halfords now then will have a go at removing the old donut.

Also, the chequer plate arrived today for a few little custom bits on the inside! Got to finish painting the outside chequer plate and once hard, I'll rivet them on.

Not much happening at the moment....... work has arrived again :)
