what bank are you with. Many bank accounts offer free breakdown cover as one of the perks. In virtually all cases this is just roadside cover with only a 10 mile tow. Greenflag have just upped there cover to a 30 mile free tow. The cover given by Lloyds bak is full recovery.

This goes to anyone without breakdown cover. If you breakdown on the motorway and have no breakdown cover you are given a certain amount of time to get the vehicle shifted yourself. If you have no cover or your vehicle is not shiften in time the police or highways agency will arrange recovery off the motorway whether you like it or not. The bill for this is £150. This is payable immediately and failure to do so will result in your vehicle being impounded until such time as it is paid. It is worth noting that VAT cannot be added to enforced removal.

happened to me a while back and another Landie driver stopped then towed me 35 miles home, have since taken out cover with the AA

Know a bloke who has got AA /RAC cover. Phone him and blag his membership number. Then phone recovery service. When they arrive and want a signiture say he got picked up by a mate and left you with the vehicle. Simpels ! Worked for my mate. He got piggybacked from Glasgow to London on his mums card, and the poor old girl never leaves the parish.

until you read the bit you signed which states summit along the lines of.... 'I agree that I am a fully certified member of the above organisation. If I'm found not to be a member then I will reimburse the above organistion in full on presentation of the invoice'.

A trip from Glasgow to London will only cost you around £1000, providing you never changed trucks enroute.:eek::eek:

Breakdown clubs are also cracking down on fraudulent use of membership cards too.

lloyds isnt full cover any more, we found that out the other week when they told us they would only take us to the nearest garage or try fix it there (blown turbo ) had to pay £100 to upgrade cover to recovery. we had been recovered by then several times before without a problem.
