Right, just ordered a new back door & gubbins which I'll do over the weekend.

The first job that looks a tad unpleasant is the channel that runs just behind each sill, they are
attached by what look like bolts to the door frame. The door frame is in good condition with no rust I
can see. It has a rebate that seats the door seal on etc.

Has anyone got any ideas on how to do this job?

Do you mean this bit?

If so it's the main structure of the sides and on the 109 retails at around
£100 a side.

When we had this problem on Jlo my Dad got some box section for £5, cut the
approproate slots in and drilled it in all the right places. I then welded
it to what remained which was in fact good once all the poo had been cut
away tojust before the centre pillar.

I think this was the only part we fabricated due to the replacement costs.
Don't know if the 110 is much different.

Looks like it Lee, it really is only channel iron from what I can see. Be fecked if I'm paying £100 per
side! It's not part of the MOT so it can stay as it is!

I'll take some photos & get em online for reference!

Only bolted in from what I can see though?

Yep but access to cut them off is limited if I recall correctly.

Never seen one fail it's MOT on it BUT .....It is what your seat belt
lower mounting is bolted to. So it should fail
