I posted some questions on here the other week about some problems with my EAS - drivers side dropping first then the the whole car settles, usually fully settled within 24 hours.

I was resigned to replacing the air bags but then this!

Took her out on Sunday and did some green lanes, some mud ruts, some splashy puddles, a bit of wading - nothing stressful.

Got back yesterday at about 3;30pm - and today by the same time - it has not dropped even a millimetre!

How can this be?

This must change the likely diagnosis?

Help from the EAS Gods will be appreciated.

Nick

I'm definitely calling it a win for now - but unless there is a real explanation then I'm going to think it is likely to recur as a problem - so I'd like to hear an explanation.
Mud sealing a leaking air bag? If its as easy as that then this could be a big win - if I wash it and it subsides again all I need to do is find the leak and glue some mud to it!:D

I like the sound of Professional EAS sealing mud.... Salisbury Mud is very sticky, is Shropshire mud as sticky?
Maybe Gorrilla tape? Or a bicycle repair kit?

If it doesn't drop with the delay timer removed the bags are fine.

The car will self-level until it hits the bump stops overnight, older cars more so. If a height sensor gives odd readings it will drop the others to match. So Saint's explanation makes sense.

You need to go laning more often!

More likely, the articulation of the suspension has cleaned the internal wiper area of the height sensors and as such the signal they are feeding back to the EAS ECU is now 'cleaner' and less 'spikey' and hence the EAS ECU is now getting correct height readings!

Yes as with the human body exercise works wonders.

Yep just done a twelve mile yomp carrying an anvil. I will leave you to decide if that was truth or a lie.

Thank you again to @wammers , @Saint.V8 and @Grrrrrr

I'll keep a close eye on it, if by some miracle the romp through the muddy lanes has cleaned the ....wot SaintV8 said.... then great. If I see it list again I'll be following your advice and removing the delay timer and seeing what happens.

It would be really nice if I'm not posting for more advice about EAS in the near future, I have enough other topics to seek advice on as it is, you know, Traction Control, ABS, etc

Saints answer is on the money. If the fault recurs, you may need a new height sensor but odds on it will be OK for quite a while.
