Personally i wouldnt use it.

It eventually builds up and creates a paste that can knacker the lock.

i use a light gun oil or simple wd40

Self righting I thought was acheieved using a notch in the steering column acting on a lever type thing on the base of the stalk....

If this is the case - and yours isn't returning on steering wheel movement - it may be the lever type thing has broken...maybe...possibly...could be...etc

WD40 is a Water Dispersant (WD) and as such is designed to leave a film behind. Dust and dirt then sticks to this film. Not a great idea in a lock mechanism.

The best result is gained from cleaning the mechanism out using isopropyl alcohol to wash everything out then lubricating with graphite powder.

Clean the lock out first with a squirt of brake cleaner solvent.
Let it evaporate then give it another squirt of the graphite lubricant.
Otherwise you will end up with a paste of wd40, graphite and whatever.

Do you think id I use this on my indicator stalk (its not self righting) it will work, I have some already for my ignition lock, and so far its working fine now

This is nothing like WD40 - it comes out wet (solvent) then dries to leave behind a graphite powder that is 100% dry. Therefore, it will not form a paste at all, it will not get sticky or manky.

Your best bet is to get the steering column cover off to check that nothing is broken on the stalk; but if everything looks ok, and the stalk is just sticking, then this product will work fine. You may like to try a dry PTFE spray instead though.

You know I have some stuff, come from a rock or dust in Iceland, (its the only place you can find it apparently) its VERY expensive (cant think of the name of it right now) you use just the smallest amount, you burnish it on and wipe it off after (I used it for my overdrive on my SII) and it really worked...... I will come back when I think of the name of it!! you get it as a paste or aerosol, I have 2 aerosol cans left (I have a great big jar of paste, but I gave most of it away (got about 50 lots from it)

Ahh found it, £120 a tin!!!!
