i got general grabbers in the summer 255/55/18 and besides being aggressive looking they seem to be the muts nutz in the sticky stuff,

bought a set of snow chains on flea bay as i live on the side of a mountain and they may come in handy.

anyone else done anything ??

Yep...I keep checking the weather reports, and we seem to be about the only part of the north of the country not covered in the white stuff at the mo!...not even a sniff of snow to play in, yet :(

Me all set, Snow chains ready and a nice wax oiled Chassis as those bloody salt / grit truck are about.

Going to need 4 new tyres in the next month or so, got to decide wether to get 4 new 20" tyres, or 22" rims with new tyres (tyres all pretty much same price for 20's and 22's, just gotta decide if work getting new alloys...

Yep...I bought a Range Rover Classic!! :p

Checked fluids and changed where necessary, lobbed a tow rope, jump leads and can of petrol in the boot, will need to add a blanket too I guess. That's it, ready to go!

oh yeah I got petrol and jump leads too :p

The classic is the best machine for this weather, although I wish my heater worked better

Jump leads, blanket and tow gear always in the car anyway. Will be fitting new set of Cooper ST's in next week or so, which should take care of any traction issues!

instead of blankets i put sleeping bags in, they are usually more adept at keeping you warm should you need to spend a night in the wild, anyone also thought of food and water, enough to survive 24 hours in the cold? obviously the water needs to be fresh stuff or it would be ice!!! lol!!!

camping stove would be handy too, i'll dig one out!! in fact i might take the pikey wagon too its got all that stuff in there already and a toilet!!!!

lol, I got water , not food but I think running a campstove in a 20 yr old petrol landy or out in a blizzard might not be much fun :p

christ if you need all those things why dont you just stay at home then??? lol

well if ya got little uns to keep alive, and lets face it, the amount of stuff you'll be carrying wont even register in a rangie!!

better to have it and not use it than not have it available!!!

belt and braces approach

Apart from the tow rope, jump leads etc. I would have 2x 6packs Guinness, one of our Dachshounds with a barrel of Hennesy XO, four cooked chickens, 10lbs. of spuds, 3lb. sprouts, case of Shiraz, 10 packs of Jammie Dodgers in case "J the Range" is nearby, stove to cook on, emergency flares, 3 pairs of tights with 20 year old blondes wearing them, 10 packs of Viagra.
I would not be taking my mobile phone.

you just wait till you back in the mother land,i going to come down and eat all your biccys. you you swine..lol:D

instead of blankets i put sleeping bags in...

That's a good idea - was gonna have to buy a blanket, but I already have a sleeping bag so that can go in! Great!

Had to have a new tyre today - noticed one of mine had perished, so now got two new Goodyear A/T's on the front, and a Toyo and a Michelin on the rear - not ideal, but they'll do. Put new tyres on the front as they do most of the braking, not to mention the steering too!
