good evening all!!

just a quick one... my father inlaw has a td5 disco facelift. he has just had a set of general grabbers at2 fitted, he was told to run 34psi in them but they look quite soft. i think the size is 255 55 18, whats the best pressures to run???

I personally don't agree with that manufacturers data........28 PSI in the front, jeez they look and are flat with that amount in them......

I run 34 front, 38-40 rear, even at that the fronts "look" like they need more

Yup I agree but they are designed to run low pressured to give more tyre contact with the road. These aren't racing cars ya driving yu know..

tis a brave man who inflates his tyres based on how they "look"
 
Depends on the tyre cross-section; 28psi in a 205 or 235 section will look 'slightly deflated' compared with a 255.

We've got 255/55R16 Pirellis and run at 28/38 with no problems.

The area supporting the vehicle weight is larger in proportion to the tread width, so the contact pressure is lower on the larger tyre.
