Is the air suspension supposed to do this?

Hi again folks,

so i have been noticing that when i'm stationary at lights or in traffic etc that the air suspension moves as if its readjusting or something. I have just bought my Rangey and wasnt sure if this was supposed to happen. Having trouble with it so am going into overdrive with worry!

You'll be sorry you asked mate! Ha!

Breaks are terrible. ABS, TC and brake lights are all on. Only front breaks are working. Getting hardly any fluid through to the rear brakes.

Getting a terrible steering shudder when i go over a bump at over 50mph.

The other day i opened up the throttle but by the time i got to 80mph it sounded like the front passenger door was going to come off. Now i know the car isn't built for speed but surely it should be able to handle 80 or 90 no problem. Book says it capapble of over 120 but i hate to see what would happen if i went there!

I still love her though!
 
Brakes sound like a failed accumulator. Steering shudder could be the steering damper. Both easy to fix, although the accumulator is a little pricey - I think about £120.

I don't think the 'dancing' at traffic lights is supposed to happen but I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it gets excessive. There are a few posts on it floating around (and some youtube videos, I believe).

The Eas should settle to a level and stay there,if its moving every few seconds there is something wrong - either air loss or worn out height sensors.Both problems need sorting as they waste air that quickly wears out the compressor.
 
The air suspension only operates when your foot is not on the brake pedal (and doors are closed), so you stop at lights, then take your foot off so the car resets its height! Yes this is all part of the experience!

I think i was just being OTT about the suspension. It's just resetting i should think.

So put the car into the landy garage and the brakes are now working. Mechanic said that one of the relays that operates the ABS pump had burnt out. He replaced it but nw the ABS pump constantly runs. Basically i want to know do i need a new ABS pump or would it be the Accumulator. Accumulator = £89, ABS pump = £700. So you will know the answer i want to hear! Ha ha!

When you say it constantly runs, do you mean every time you press the brake pedal, or constantly?

I'm interested because mine seems to run every time I press the brake pedal (well it makes a whirring noise anyway). I'm half expecting to have to replace my accumulator at some point.

my p38 was doing the traffic light dance,i left it to long to sort it.the eas then went into shut down mode.now cannot get it to work,the cause of the dancing was knackered front airbags.:mad:
