Is Retrofit of cruise control to a manual 95 300 Tdi possible?

Hi there Bluestrobe, to be honest I suspect this is a non-starter, unfortunately.

I have cruise on my '98 auto and there are wires and switches and also sorts of devices in the engine bay to make this work.

I wish you luck but I think you may struggle to achieve this within anything like a reasonable budget. EG footswitch replacement £100:eek:

Shirley you can't be serious? We had a car with cruise control and I only ever used it in 4 years about 3 times - and that was just outa interest/boredom/curiousity/whatever. Not practical in uk at all imoi, when do you get a chance to just sit 'n cruise without adjustment to speed?....or have I been doon sooth too long? ROLL ON SPAIN! 4 MONTHS TO GO! :p

What's the level of traffic like in your soon-to-be new home? Round here there is none, except in August when the tourists are here.

Remains to be seen Dave. Haven't pinpointed our new location yet. 1st 6 mnths will be in rented accomodation and we are going out in November to view properties and make a decision - can't do it yet cos properties for rent in January aren'r necessarilly around yet. If we end up on the coast then it'll be busy in tourist time but we may well end up a bit inland where hopefully the traff won't be bad at all. We are limited as to where we can live cos kid's school is selected and we have to live within a commutable distance.
Currently I live on west outskirts of London town near Hampton Ct, classed as Surrey but London really. I work outside M25 so in mornings I 'm heading away from London but traffic is still ****e...and the same coming home. I'm not in me first flush of youth so the move is quite a scary prospect but I find much of the uk depressing with traffic and grey skies, bad news in papers every day, taxes blah blah so I can't wait to move! Mind you, our move depends on wifey's business which is struggling at the mo cos of the bleedin' recession so i'm not counting me chickens, we haven't left yet but fingers crossed it should go ahead!
