Ive done a search and found conflicting info

I hope to start my 300 tdi conversion in my lightweight over the next few weeks and id like to have all the parts needed before i start

I plan to use the lt77 box that came fitted to the lightweight ,it has the short (under 6") defender bell housing which fitted the rover v8 it came with

Will this fit the 300 or will i need to fit a 200/2.5na flywheel housing ?

Thanks

it would fit but you quite likely would need to cut support lugs of the bottom and a number of studs wouldnt align but enough to do the job will, they use more studs than are necessary as std, a 2.5 flywheel housing would be a neater job and use err1440- gasket a decent brand is best

you can use the flywheel and starter, you wont have a no1 tdc timing pin hole in the flywheel housing and you cant use 2.5 hole as 2.5s are timed at exhaust peak 108 degrees btdc, front crank sprocket and timing case do have marks so you can use those instead
