Hello,
First post so please be kind! Bought a Freelander Hse just over a year ago as I work in quite a rural place that gets mental in the winter. Before that I had always driven little hatchback type things and I always managed to get where I wanted to go, even in snow etc, but got a litle bit of money so decided to treat myself and avoid the buttock clenching drive to work in the winter:eek:! However, I really don't find my Freelander much if at all better than a normal car - in fact last winter was massively embarrassed to be unable to drive in a straight line without skidding everywhere while Fiestas and the like pootled past me!!
It passed MOT with no probs at all last month and has had health checks, new brakes and new tyres - is it me being crap and girly at driving (like the blokes at work would probably say as they bomb around in their Defenders) or could there be something horribly wrong with the freelander?

hahahahahahahahahahahahahah :welcome2:

Its the tyres. I just changed mine from Synchrones to general Grabber AT2s and the difference is utterly amazing. It will barely loose grip unless you REALLY try.

Find this hard to believe. How heavy is your right shoe? Just coax it rather than hoof it.

Nothing wrong with synchrones, we have 2 on the front that are only just on the legal limit and almost brand new Scorpian ATRs on the back, how often does it spin? Very rarely and its a V6 - and when it does spin the Pirelli's give it up the kick up the ass and it's fine.

So is my front wheel car so i have a rangie with bull bars for off roading.Dunt see the point of a freebie.I used to but my FWD car is just as good in the snow and does **** loads of MPG.
your car won't go off-road in the snow , a freelander will. It will also have more control on the road. Plus its just better:D
