Interior lighting and alarm issue on my 300 tdi

Picked up a 300 tdi on the weekend, and am having a couple of annoying little problems.

The hazard lights and red light on the dashboard don't flash upon remote locking/unlocking, it just operates the locks. Any ideas? I didn't know until reading the manual that it was meant to flash :rolleyes:

Also, the interior lights, front-boot, only come on when the drivers door is opened. Is there a setting I'm missing or do I have 3 x broken door + boot light buttons? :D

2. Right. I should stress I'm about as mechanically/electrically minded as a fish, I'm gonna need a testing kit of some sort for that I guess? :D
 
The hazards should flash once on un-lock and three times on lock.
The flash function is fused with the headlight washers(?) if you have them.
I would check Fuse 2, second from left, on the bottom on the bottom row of 6 fuses on the fuse panel below the steering wheel.
Most common cause of failure is the headlight washer pump going faulty and blowing the fuse so you may have to dis-connect pump before renewing fuse.
If your car doesn't have headlight washers I woukld still look at the above fuse.
 
Also, with the locks if I press drivers door lock down while driving, it pops all the locks down, then straight back up. Surely that should stay down? Related?
